Executive Committee Meeting

Craig Bishop, Dan Johanneck, Scott Dutcher, Arles Kumpula, Raymond Rivera,Don Hoverson, Marv Kading, Rollie Nissen, and Barbara Ulfers all present and accounted for.

-Chairman Craig Bishop called the meeting to order at 7:01

-Raymond Rivera conducted the invocation

-The agenda was accepted by Scott Dutcher and seconded by Dan Johanneck

-Minutes from the last meeting were accepted by Raymond Rivera seconded by Dan Johanneck

-Treasury report-No report given.

-Bishop gave a Chairmans report talking about the letter to the editor drive

Unidentified voter identification Phoenix has been sent to all BPOU's 

- Dutcher gave an update as executive officer

Letter to the editor campaign  Scott Dutcher made at least 7 papers

New BPOU Leadership handbook will be sent out soon by the state. It is designed to help with conventions, new technologies and philosophical questions that do come up.

Blue print to victory discussed with fundraising emphasis

Voter ID Scott Dutche made the statement to say that we are the only district in the State of Minnesota “7th District with Voter ID established thanks to mainly the efforts of Chairman Craig Bishop”

Midwest Leadership Conference is hosted by Minnesota on October 7-8 in Bloomington For those that want information and applications for this leadership conference they should contact Dutcher

Questions were asked about the state debt and whether the state has caught up on its obligations and the answer was no. Dutcher emphasized that it is good that we are concerned about this but that we should not panic yet.

-Farm fest discussed According to Bishop the $50 gas card have been taken care of as prizes to be given away each day during the festivities. Nancy Haapja and JIM Hahn have been contacted about scheduling of workers Hahn has a list we will be calling through The first shifts start at 9AM-1PM and second 1PM-5PM Volunteers are welcome to contact Bishop, Rivera or Nething.

-Craig Bishop CD7 Chair and Dave Fitsimmons CD 6 Chair have been collaborating with the idea of a mutual fundraiser inviting Michelle Bachman as the main speaker.

-Raymond Rivera gave an update on the convention ironing out the date and finding openings where available. Rivera was hopeful that we could have the convention in Alexandria but that the dates are filling up fast. He also expressed his concern about the redistricting, and early caucus uncertainty.

-Don Hoverson gave technology report talking about the state and what they have emphasized with the new booklet with how to and give more direction to BPOU with Facebook, social media for example. He also emphasized the need to put more stuff out their and that the more that we do the better traffic and circulation we would see.  He also updated the board on how the polling and collection of information is going and that it is up and working.

-Arles Kumpula gave an update on BPOU Development talking about Big Stone and Polk Counties Setting up maps, Constitutions and the use of precincts and caucuses which were all in question for these area.

-Scott Dutcher made a motion to spend $200 to purchase email list from election energy but only to buy the information and emails that we do not have. Rivera seconded. The board voted unanimously to do this.

-The meeting was adjourned at 8:36 PM
